((ooc: come on guys! Katana, Shutaboy we need u 2 come in sooner or later...)) Gandalf watched Aragorn walk up to him wearily carrying Pippin in a firemans hold (or whatever its called ) and chuckled at the site of Pippin "I don't know - theyre probably asleep or getting ready. I should get them Aragorn, mind the horses please " and strode off to find Admien, Faythe and Malaak. He found them in their apartment in the trees above and and called them down. "Admien? Faythe? Malaak? We leaving now - wake up! We're off to retrieve Merry from the Uruk-hai!" Then he lead them down to the horses and met Aragorn and Pippin. He smiled down at Pippin and said "I told you not to indulge yourself Peregrin Took!" Then hoisted him up onto Tari's back. "You'll be taking Pippin then Sairalide?" Gandalf in the meantime swung himself on to Shadowfax's back and looked around expectantly at all 6 of the party. "Admien, could you ride with Aragorn? And Malaak and Faythe, I trust you have your own steeds?"

{( Sorry 'bout that, I forgot the address to this site ^^; )}
Malaak nodded. "Of course we do." She whistled, sharply, to the west. A few moments passed before two horses, one large black and the other smaller and silver, came galloping towards the group. The black stallion, dubbed Dinin, nuzzled his great head into Malaak's chest. The silver mare quietly strode over to Faythe's side and waited for further instruction. Faythe slipped a few sugar cubes to the mare, Flæd, before mounting. Flæd was bare, she had nothing on, whereas Dinin had only a bridle of woven gold. Malaak mounted after Faythe, onto the stallion.

((np^^ i'll rp Admien 'till Shuta gets back, he's been gone from the compy for a few days))
Aragorn raised an eyebrow, whistling for another horse. a huge chestnut trotted up, the stallion's neck arched proudly and his tail a battle plume in the wind. Aragorn handed the reins to the chestnut, called Firestar, to Admien and hauled himself into Brego's saddle.
Sairalinde nodded at Gandalf, "yeah, he's too drunk to ride his own steed!" before she mounted up, Sairalinde called two ponies to Tari's side: Striker, a small cobby gray; and Smite, a lithe bay and tethered them to Tari's saddle. "there, one for each hobbit once Pippin's sober and once we get Merry." Sairalinde slid her saddle a bit farther back on Tari to leave room for Pippin on the mare's whithers, then finally mounted up.

Gandalf looked around at the assembled people around him and nodded. "Well, here we come Merry!" and Shadowfax broke into a canter through Lorien, passing elves and trees in a grey blur. When they reached open plains, they broke into a gallop. Gandalf's beard and robes flying behind him in a storm of grey. Night fell, and the party reached a small wood and they stopped for sleep and a quick meal. Gandalf jumped down off Shadowfax and stroked his muzzle and thanked him. Then he turned to Aragorn "We should only get a few hours sleep, as we should set out early again to seek Merry"

Sairalinde snorted, "us elves need no sleep!" she let Pippin down onto the ground. "i'm scouting ahead, see if the tracks are any fresher than the ones we've been following." she took off Tari's tack, remounted, and cantered off.
Pippin sighed and searched the bags for the wine, grinning broadly when he found it. his greedy little hands reached for the bottle, but a sudden burning filled his fingertips and he flung himself back with a cry. when his courage returned and the burning had gone away, Pippin peered into the bag again, this time seeing a note which he snatched up and read: Ha ha, Pip! you won't get any wine that way! ~Sairalinde Melwasul~
Pippin sighed again and put the note back. he went over to where Tari's saddle was and sat back down.
Aragorn laughed at Pippin's antics before answering Gandalf, "i suppose so. i'll take Malaak hunting with me."

Gandalf nodded. "I'll start a fire and get out the lambas(sp?) bread - Pippin, would you care to help me?" and he started to gather together some logs.

As Aragorn, Malaak & Sairalinde left, Gandalf and Pippin had stacked up all the logs into the middle of the clearing and Gandalf had taken out his staff and murmered a few words then the lifeless lumps of wood ignited into a roaring fire. He sat back and looked around at Pippin, Faythe and Admien silentley before taking out his pipe and puffing on it and looking up into the starry sky, thinking...

satisfied with their work, Pippin slunk over to the pack again and peered inside at the liquor bottles. thinking about the note, Pippin stuck one of his little hands into the bag again, only to yank it back out with a yelp. he sat with a sigh, pondering for a minute or two on what the note had said: you won't get any wine that way..... Pippin considered the fact that Sairalinde had always been about mind games....*lightbulb flashes over his head -lol, not really^^-* struck with a "wonderful" idea, Pippin crept back to the bag. he cleared his mind of any wanting for the liquor, thinking instead about cheese and bread. his fingers touched the bottle and hesistated, waiting for the searing pain to leap up his arm. no pain came. smiling, Pippin took out the bottle with a triumphant chuckle.

Gandalf watched Pippin retrieve the wine and a secret smile crinkled his blue eyes. From underneath his hat, Gandalf said "Don't go drinking that all at once Peregrin!"

Pippin waved Gandalf away as he lay onto his back, over half the bottle gone.

Gandalf rolled his eyes and stood up slowly. He walked slowly by, through the trees till he reached the edge of the forest where he could look out over the plains which were lit by the silver light of the moon, dimming the world to black & white. He stood there for a long time thinking about Merry, then he walked back to camp, hoping Aragorn had come back with some food.......

as if on cue, Aragorn came cantering back to camp, a deer slung across Brego's rump. it was a large buck, 6 pointed antlers and fresh. Aragorn was internally proud of his kill, though on the outside he showed no such pride.
Sairalinde was far from returning. she'd encouraged Tari to a gallope, and was now nearly five miles from the camp. the tracks had indeed freshened, and she was hoping to at least catch a glimpse of the orcs and Merry. but the trail was confusing, and no matter how long Tari ran, the trail neither grew fresher nor showed the orcs.

Gandalf watched Aragorn enter the camp dramatically and approached Brego & Aragorn - "Ah, Aragorn! You're just in time -" he looked at the deer "Mmm delicious." and he helped Aragorn lift the deer from Brego's rump and on to the ground.
Later on, when all had eaten and the fire had burned low, everyone was sitting round the fire in a circle. Gandalf was once again, puffing on his pipe, staring into the fire. Suddenly, he seemed to wake up "We should get a few hours sleep everyone" and he began to unroll a sleeping bag.
